Model 16 non cutaway acoustic archtop for Russ Campbell- wet sanding and polishing

The clear coats on Russ’ guitar are all set up- time to level the paint and polish it. The paint is pretty shiny when it leaves the sprayroom, but always has a slight bumpiness to it from the spray gun. I start sanding with soapy water with 1000 grit, then 1200. I sand it all by hand with various hard rubber blocks and malleable high density foam blocks. Takes several hours of elbow grease. When everything is leveled and uniform i can take it to the buffing wheel. This goes in 2 stages, coarse and fine with special super soft flannel wheels. After that a quick polish with guitar polish and it looks super glossy and scratch free!
