I’ve made a lot of progress on my late winter projects. This post shows a lot of the binding work for the guitars. I used really bright European maple for a nice contrast, almost like white binding. Takes a LOT of work to bend the multiple layers just right and get it cleanly in place.
Also a bunch of pics of the coloring process. The big 18 has an old time ice tea burst, which is kind of like a faded tobacco sunburst. I also sprayed a layer of light amber over the whole guitar for a vintage vibe. The 16 has an amber burst, and the binding contrast turned out super cool. The 15 got a double stain job kind of like some of my recent work, but this time with a bit of burnt sienna added in for a touch of red. All the flame european maple looks fantastic!!! Patrick has applied all the clear coats and will begin polishing them as soon as it sets up. Stoked.
