Birdseye Laminate Model 16- Composite parts

This post shows some parts I cast in the same epoxy method described in my earlier tailpc post. The pickup ring is a simple cast, and is then machined out to accept the handwound Kent Armstrong pickup. Perfect match to Kents pickup, which is “ebony” cast in the exact same way. The bridge shown is an experiment- I modeled one of my bridges to try out in a cast style. The base has a rock maple core, and the saddle has a graphite core interior. The epoxy is cast around the cores, and machined to fit the top as well as components. In the end even though it looks super slick, I didnt like the sound of the bridge compared to an ebony one, so i trashed the idea. You dont know until you try right? I’ll have a post on the construction of the ebony replacement soon…
