So like I was describing in a previous post– I was going through some old boxes in storage and low and behold I came across some incomplete guitars!! These guitars date from mid 2000’s when I was in the Philly shop. I made some extra guitars along with various mini production runs at the time. I didnt have time to finish them out, I put them in storage and then, yes, completely forgot about them until a couple weeks ago. Haha!! wow…
This is the 16″ 7 string I found. Construction completed with no issues, then placed in storage. It had a coat of vintage amber lacquer applied, as well as some sealer coats. After pulling it out and seeing how nice the woods were I decided to do some shading on it using a scheme that I’ve been wanting to try, with some golden brown in place of the more reddish colors that the violin burst guitars have. Looks reaaaally cool! The flame maple is really sweet on this one, the sides and neck are saturated with deep vivid figure.
Current pricing on a carved-woods guitar with these specs is in the $5800 range. As with all made-for-inventory guitars, I’d discount this “old stock” guitar to $4350 plus case and shipping (25% off). Party like its 2007! It has had all the lacquer work completed and hardware installed. If you’ve been wanting to try the 7 string thing (or if you already know how cool it is!) this is a killer guitar! It was finally time for this one to come to life. It sounds great right already, its been settling and acclimating for years!
